These are some of our friends in Louisiana. Sam and his wife, Regina. The older man is Karen's dad, Paul Davis. Then Liz and her husband, Anthony. Then......me and Karen.

this one is Abby and her husband, Michael and their son, Gabe.
We've known Karen and Jeff since they were first married and were living in the single wide mobile home in our back yard. Now our children are almost all grown up!

This is Lydia and her friend, Lydia. They have been best friends since they were born! We have pics of them dressed alike when they were little. Her family lives in Louisiana, but we have been able to visit almost every year since they were born. (they are 4 days apart)
Last week we took a trip down to Louisiana to drop Laura off at camp. We were able to visit Dave, Joy and Preston!

Preston is 4 months old now, and looking very much like a Bickle! Dave and Joy live in a nice mobile home with 3 bedrooms. This is a pic of their livingroom looking towards the kitchen and dining room.

The Birthday girls and all the rest of us!

On Saturday, the 9th, we all got together for a birthday picnic. Elisabeth's grandmother, Oma, and E's sister, Julia, Bob and Linda Pearson (the adopted grandparents) and us.
It was a beautiful evening for eating out on the patio. We had Chinese food for the birthday girls. Egg rolls, beef lo mein, chicken fried rice, and BBQ chicken for the men of the house who don't like Chinese food!

Lydia's 14th birthday party (with her friends)

So, Lydia also had a party with friends...
She is now 14 and thinks that she can have oh so many new privileges! ha! ha! ha!

Look at them, trouble just waiting to happen!

Michaela's 8th birthday party with her friends

Michaela turned 8 on May 6th.
She had some friends over for a flip-flop party. They decorated their flip-flops with bling!

At the beginning of April we had a "spa" day for two of our dear friends. Bonnie (red sweater) and her husband and family have been missionaries in northern Camaroon for a number of years. They have been home on furlough this past year and are leaving on May 14th to go back. We were privileged to be able to give her a little "special" tender loving care. Kathy (pink sweater and pink glasses) is an old friend from way back. Her and her husband live here in Greenville. Lovely day of beautiful music, delicious food, a warm cup of tea, and wonderful friends!
