Family Vacation 2009

These pictures were all taken down at Lake Hartwell in Anderson, SC. We all stayed together in one house for 4 days. As you can see, I am worn out. It looks like Michaela and Preston are too! We had a lot of fun together and enjoyed having Laura home after being gone all summer

It was so good to have Dave and Joy with us, too!

July 11th is Elisabeth's birthday. As you can see, Michaela was kind enough to set the table for our party..

Jeremiah was trying to throw balls (made out of saran wrap) into Paul's mouth. Not too much success I'm afraid..

Shiloh was anxious for me to light the candles so he could watch his mommy blow out allllllllll of them!

Elisabeth's brother was here for a week to visit before he ships out to Iraq. He is in the Army and will go soon.

This month the Lord gave Paul and I a wonderful few days vacation just to get away and rest a bit. Paul had alot of paperwork to do and needed some uninterrupted time to work on it. So while Lydia was at the WILDS, we were able to go to Williamsburg. We had been there before so we weren't there for the sightseeing. But we did drive down to Hampton and take a boat tour of the Hampton Roads/Chesapeake Bay area.

These osprey were named affectionately, Bonnie and Clyde. They come back every year to rear their family!

This is Old Point Comfort Lighthouse. It is the oldest continually running lighthouse in the US.

We are in Hampton Roads, one of the worlds natural deepwater harbours. This ship is 10 stores high.

These ships are all docked at the Norfolk Naval Base, I think the tour guide said it is the largest in the country.

Fort Wool sits opposite Fort Monroe at the mouth of the James river. It overlooks the entrance to Hampton Roads.

We bought a little pool for Lydia to float around in and for the kids to come and play in when it is too hot to do anything else. They all had a good time except for Shiloh, he was busy playing with the "Hess" truck, moving the car and motorcycle in and out of the compartments.

Final pics of Lydia's softball season. They made it to the championship game only to lose by one run! They learned so much and we are very thankful to have had good coaches that promoted the kinds of attitudes in the girls that would bring glory to our wonderful Saviour!

Lydia made the "team" cake for the final picnic with her team. They were the Wolverines, hence the W on the cake.
